Last week (13-17 March) the Parent Council of the Jasper’s Junior Senior High School gave teachers quite a fright!
Usually when we run into the staffroom between classes, between basketball practices and games, between net-zero school preparations and presentations to the Municipality and GYPSD, between supervision and substituting for teachers while they surrender to the junior high groups going skiing, between catch-up sessions and homework room for the students doing an exchange with students from Quebec, between the starve-a-thon and Jasper’s Got Talent; all we can expect is an empty coffee pot and maybe someone’s wayward box of crackers.
Suddenly, all week, there in our staffroom, were flowers, subdued lighting, streamers paper hearts and food! Lots and lots of food and lovely things to drink! What the Parent Council gave teachers last week made us feel recognized as people and for that, thank you doesn’t even come close!
